We’re proud to be an award-winning team of filmmakers who are genuinely passionate about what we do — and we’re here to help bring your creative vision to life. Northern Outpost was built on a set of values that still guide us today: a commitment to delivering top-tier filmmaking and production services, a deep-rooted passion for storytelling, and a belief in making the entire process an experience worth enjoying.

From the very beginning, our goal has been to combine technical skill with genuine enthusiasm — not just creating visually stunning content, but doing it with heart. Whether we’re shooting a gritty short film, a polished promo, or a bold new music video, we bring the same level of care, creativity, and energy to every project.

    Harry Skuse

    Our Writer/Director

    A multi-award winning writer and director, Harry began his film-making career as a child, making stop motion animations with his Lego. This progressed into making short films with friends in Secondary School, where he decided to pursue his passion attending college at UTC@MediaCityUK.

    After making several award winning films there, he attended university at MetFilm school, where he met his future collegues, and developed his skills further. Now, he is working as a director across several projects, including Music Videos, Brand Commercials and Narrative Shorts, as well as developing a feature.

    Luca Hill

    Director of Photography

    Luca’s a cinematographer from the hills of Lancashire who first got into cinematography during college and continued honing his skills further at MetFilm School. He’s worked as a DP on everything from short films and music videos to branded content—basically, if it moves and tells a story, he’s into it.

    What really drives him is the feeling behind the frame. Whether it’s natural light, gritty textures, or the rhythm of the camera, Luca’s all about drawing people into a world and making them feel something. He’s not just chasing beautiful shots but striving for that long-lasting feeling.

    Kasper Jessett

    Our 1st Assistant Director

    Kasper is a life-long storyteller: pursuing writing, acting and film photography when he was younger. He began his career as a cameraman, but found his calling as a 1st Assistant Director on the experimental micro short 'How to Smoke a Cigarette'.

    Kasper studied at MetFilm Manchester, where he met the Northern Outpost team after working on their debut short film 'Absent Friends'.

    Kasper's time at university taught him to use his creativity and ingenuity to help bring each story he works on to life, and culminated in him being the 1st AD and Lead Producer for 'Once Upon a Time in the North-West', a western-inspired comedy-drama, due to premier later in 2025.

    Born and raised in the Lake District, Kasper finds his inspiration in the outdoors and the natural world; he is deeply interested in exploring the cinematic relationship between people and landscape.

    Maia Cook

    Our Production Supervisor

    Growing up, Maia’s always loved film and watching behind the scenes. She started her filmmaking journey during college and later attended university at MetFilm School, where she further developed her skillset, working within different departments and discovered that production management is for her. Emerging from a film and business background, she’s now our production supervisor.
